Records of Site Condition: Ontario’s Standard for Environmental Due Diligence​

A Record of Site Condition (RSC) is filed with the Ministry of the Environment, Parks and Conservation (MECP) based on Ontario Regulation 153/04. The RSC documents environmental site assessments, remedial work and other environmental activities taken on a site. RSCs document the environmental condition of a property. They ensure that the standard of care used in the work is appropriate and provides the highest level of documented environmental assurance available. Required to undertake certain redevelopment options, an RSC also provides indemnification to property owners supported by the Ontario government.
