As a lawyer practicing in the environmental area, I frequently deal with environmental consulting firms of various sizes and abilities. I was introduced to Paul Wilson and his team at AEL over a decade ago. I have consistently found AEL to be a cut above most  firms in terms of their skills as environmental professionals and their ability to solve scientific puzzles.

An example was a report by another company that found subsurface hydrocarbon contamination in a spot midway between a gas station and a former potato chip plant which had lots of vegetable oils in its history.  The report wasn’t prepared to say which was the source and the valuation of the site for the purposes of a potential transaction was affected. A few samples and analysis by AEL’s team found a definitive answer in no time, which was that our hydrocarbon residue was a food product and the deal closed with the higher valuation.
